Turn A One Time Sale Into A Lifetime Customer

April 28th, 2008

One time purchases are never going to lead you to success, you need to have long term, almost nurtured relationships with your customers so they become lifetime customers and that only is the key to your success.

No, it is not always an easy task but it is something that has to be done.

Pay attention to your customers and let them have a good degree of control over the relationship by paying close attention to them and work with him the way he wants to be worked with. Give him the information he needs in the timing he needs it, and allow him to cut you off without getting angry. Ultimately when you allow your customer to win, you end up winning too.

They want to be your customers because they need your products and services, right?

When the customer perceives you as the expert who really understands what he or she needs and when you give it to them in the way they recognize as serving their needs, you automatically turn an adversary into an ally. This will turn your customers into lifetime customers.

It seems that many companies work too hard at trying to be different when in fact all they have to do is learn to adapt their selling techniques to align with that of the customer and that will automatically put you in a class all by yourself, you will have become the point of differentiation. This requires you to be very aware of your approach to selling and the customer’s approach to buying.

To be successful and turn that one time customer into a lifetime customer it is essential that you almost become like Tofu and take on the flavor of what you are with. Basically in a nut shell that means that you will be most successful when your approach is identical to the customers.

So you may find it beneficial to adapt your approach to theirs, even if it’s not your natural style. Learn the secret to adapting profoundly in order to increase your sales because you possess the ability to sell to different kinds of people.

Some of the customer relationship rules still apply today regardless of where the transactions are taking place, brick and mortar locations or on the Internet, it simply does not matter, customers are still the same and fall into one of a few different categories, one, demanding, directing and domineering, two, interacting, inspiring, and influencing, three, supporting, stabilizing and steadying, and finally the conscientious, cautious and correcting customer. You will have to find out which type of customer that you are dealing with and make your approach conformed to their type in order to savor the relationship.

You may have to be clear, brief and specific with one type of customer and socialize and be friendly with another type. As you can see if you were to be a social and friendly with a type that is brief and specific, it would not work out and it is likely that you would lose that customer to someone who is able to conform to the needs of each customer. This characteristic is visible on line or in person and it is up to you to pave the way for a successful relationship with each customer to ensure that they return.

So as you can see, it is you who must learn how to adapt to varying situations because the customer is not going to change for you. Learning how to be versatile and conform to each customer type is your key to a successful and prosperous future.

A Growing Demand For Cheap Cell Phones

April 27th, 2008

Despite their enormous sophistication, it is actually possible to purchase a cheap cellular phone; statistics have shown there is in fact a growing demand for them. Almost everyone uses a cellular phone now and there are almost no age barriers for their use; it is difficult to imagine where we would be without them now.

Although they can be an indispensable part of a business, even teenagers have high tech models rivaling anything a busy business executive may use. In the early days when only a few could afford to own one they may have been viewed as a toy for adults who wanted to show off. With the range of functions available these days, the basic cell phone might seem to have become extinct but that isn’t the case.

They may be extremely clever but I have only ever wanted a phone that made a call and could send a text message, perhaps you are the same and all you want is a cheap cellular phone like me. Less costly versions will not be able to perform all those functions other phones can but that may be just right for you. Strangely not all of us actually want our cell phones to do everything they do today and may only need their phone to send and receive calls.

Call only facilities would be very unusual on today’s cheap cellular phones, on even the most very basic but if that is all you need then you won’t mind. The most important thing to check with a basic cell phone is whether or not you will get a strong signal because if this is the only reason you need it for, it is also the most important.

Sending and receiving text messages may be available, although this may only be on a limited basis. The text messaging function on the more modern, even if it is a bottom of the range phone, will be more than adequate for the average persons needs.

Sending and receiving emails may not be available but then you do not need it much anyway. Although, if you are someone that does use email a great deal and wants this ability from the phone, it may not be possible with a cheap cellular phone.

However, you may find that you won’t actually need to search for an inexpensive phone as a good call cell phone plan package which includes a decent cell phone, may become available. You would be wise to consider something like this because you may actually be provided with a better phone that you would not ordinarily be able to afford just by signing up for a cell phone plan that is within your budget. This could be a good thing for you and it means all that searching and researching won’t have to be carried out.

It doesn’t matter what you intend to purchase, the internet is a great place to research, compare and find what you are looking for plus you will usually find whatever you want within the budget you set for yourself.

How To Convert Website Exits Into Customers

April 27th, 2008

It is a well know fact of online business that most website visitors will NOT make a purchase at your site. Most people have thought that if you can convert one in one hundred exits into customers that you are doing good but it would be a lot better if you could convert a lot more.

Obviously you will never be able to convert all of the exits but it is worth the effort to capture as many as possible. The main reason that it is difficult to convert is because those who are not taking the time to read what is on your site certainly do not care what is on your offers. Some visitors read only your headline then leave. Others read a little more then become distracted and exit. And many visitors only scroll to the bottom of your page to see how much they are going to have to pay for your product or service. Unfortunately, there is not much that you can do about those types of people that is just how they are.

Like most businesses online, you believe that you have a product that you know many people will be interested in and you believe that it is a product that they are really going to want and it can also be very beneficial to them. This means that you owe it to them to make every effort to get it into their hands. You need to come up with a plan to slow down their abandon rate, something that only appears when a prospect is in the process of bailing.

You are attempting to get a message across, this is a crucial message too, you need for them to know that you do have the solution they have been looking for and you just need to give them a little extra incentive to further read your offer. This page is designed to pop up if the prospect intends to bail, it is a special order form that allows them a one time only deep discount on your product. It needs to be written in captivating text and it needs to be clear that this offer has an automatic expiration indicating a “do or die” immediate situation. Only those who are trying to split from your website are going to see this page so it is not distracting to others.

You will immediately notice that new orders will be received from this special page. These are orders are above and beyond your regular orders. And the orders come from visitors who were about to abandon your site completely! You will really be surprised at how many extra orders you will receive after one month. Of course when using any new strategy, there can be drawbacks. So you should always be prepared to be flexible. For instance, on occasion you may get a customer who paid more for your product, write and complain. It is sort of like when some folks see an item go on sale that they paid full price for. Some folks bring the flyer to the store and ask for the sale price.

You do not have to be a technical wizard to accomplish this because there is software available that just about anyone can follow and be on your way to snatching up those prospects that intend to exit. This software is not costly and will make a world of difference when converting prospects into customers.

Six Tips To Help You Set Up A Sitemap

April 26th, 2008

Just like a book has a page showing its contents, a website has a map of what’s on its site and this is called a sitemap. It lists all of the pages within the website, and acts as a guide for visitors to navigate to where they want to be and search engine robots to find particular pages of the website. Having a sitemap optimizes the site with the search engines and also helps to persuade visitors to return at a future date.

There are three main kinds of sitemaps:

1. An indexed sitemap – as the name would suggest, this is an alphabetical listing or directory. The relationship between the pages is not indicated.

2. A full categorical sitemap – this sitemap shows all links which are classified into categories. This is a popular kind of sitemap as it makes searching for certain topics easier and simplifies things between categories.

3. A restricted categorical – this sitemap displays all links in a selected category at one time; but it will not show all the links of a website, as the full categorical type does. The sitemap limits the list of links within specific categories making viewing easier and reducing eye strain.

With any of the above mentioned kinds of sitemap there are techniques which can be used to set up a superior sitemap and here are six tips to help you do this.

1. Link the sitemap to your homepage only. This ensures that the search engine robot begins searching from your homepage down through all the pages listed in your sitemap and no page will remain unvisited by the robot.

2. Restrict your sitemap to 30 pages. If you have more than this, the search engines may mistake your sitemap as a link farm, and this will result in you being penalized. Limiting the number of pages also stops overcrowding of links and will make viewing less tiresome.

3. Check all the links in your sitemap for error messages. It really puts visitors off it they click on a link and only get a 404 error message or the page requested cannot be found. Sometimes they may click a link and get shown a page which has nothing to do with what they were looking for, so it pays to keep on regular check on your links and make sure your visitors are being directed to where they want to go.

4. Giving keyword-rich titles to your sitemaps helps with optimization of your website. Search engine robots will search your website correctly under the right category.

5. Supply a short description for the link enabling your visitors to know what to expect to find by clicking on a link. It will save them time when surfing your website.

6. Make sure the design of your sitemap is consistent with those of other pages of your website. Use the same HTML template for all pages within your site including the sitemap. This will build character and establish the identity of your website.

If you follow the tips above, your website will look professional, your visitors will be encouraged to make return visits and the search engine robots will crawl through all the pages in your site, increasing your ranking in the search engines.

How to Be Proactive toward Secure Mobility in the Workplace

April 25th, 2008

Organisations should develop a proactive policy and strategy that embraces new ideas and methods to create a secure mobile workplace. “Secure mobility” is typically defined as the ability to provide employees and customers with secure “anytime, anywhere, any device” access to the corporate network. To be pro-active means acting in advance to deal with an expected difficulty.

1) Secure Mobility in the Workplace

Forcing employees to use only devices that are provided by IT is possible but both difficult to achieve and liable to result in resistance due to perceived inflexibility.

2) Secure Mobility Challenges

Your organisations may already have been confronted with the real risk of security breaches as a result of the explosion of mobile devices in the workplace. Although mobile workers are major culprits in inviting potential security breaches, organisations on the other hand are not actively deploying prevention strategies, because they do not recognise their mobile workforce.

Organisations should therefore create a proactive plan to mitigate potential security risks, to allow employees to enjoy the convenience of using mobile devices and organisations to gain maximum value from a productive, mobile workforce.

3) A Proactive Secure Mobility Plan

A Proactive Secure Mobility Plan consists of the following components:

3.1) Recognise your mobile employees

To assess the risk presented by using consumer mobile devices, conduct a baselining exercise starting with an audit to identify existing remote workers and the devices that they are using.

3.2) Plan

Once you understand current levels of mobile working, you can begin to look at the risks associated with this and plan for mitigation and controlled expansion of the mobile network. The planning phase should ascertain the different types of access required to the network and the associated risks like the impact of a stolen laptop, an unauthorised access to a particular server, data-store or the network, and the risks associated with public services such as Internet cafes, wireless hotspots or Bluetooth communication being used to access the corporate network.

Once you have completed the risk analysis, determine the potential impact of exploitation of these risks in terms of the cost to the organization. Identify mobile workers and gauge the types of devices employees are already using. Classify your employees in groups and determine the types of information and resources that need to be made accessible to them. Assign the overall responsibility for security to a single individual so that ownership and escalation paths are clear. Document the role that strategic technology partners like system integrators play in the deployment of secure. Communicate this to your employees and technology partners. Conduct internal training sessions or hold sessions as part of new employees’ induction programmes.

3.2.A) There are technologies to prevent unauthorised access to the network. For example, Network Admission Control (NAC) enforces policy for remote devices connecting to the corporate network, and Wireless detection devices Install wireless detection technology on your wireless networks to monitor unauthorised wireless users and the deployment of rogue access points.

3.2.B) There are technologies to prevent compromise of the endpoint: Client Security Softwares, Host-Bbased Intrusion Detection/Prevention Software (IDS/IPS), and Anti-Spywares.

3.2.C) There are technologies to prevent information loss or dataloss or exposure to information: Data Encryption, and Information/Data Leak Prevention (ILP / DLP) softwares.

3.4) Monitor compliance with your organisation’s mobile policy

Use devices that monitor the network for compliance and ensure that you haven’t been compromised by viruses or other malicious code. Security monitoring technology combined with compliance tools will ensure any breach in policy is quickly identified and dealt with.

Assess vulnerability of the network and key devices. Once they are found, introduce steps to mitigate these vulnerabilities. Perform penetration testing in conjunction with the Vulnerability Assessment to test network resilience fully against potential threats.

4) The Benefits of Secure Mobility

Once you have implemented a Proactive Secure Mobility Plan, you can begin to realise the various benefits derived from mobile technology. These include:

4.1) Improved employee productivity

They will have the ability to access information from wherever they are located in the world. Better access to information leads to greater productivity.

4.2) Ensure Business Continuity

Mobile technology provides the capability for employees to carry on working from home or other locations ensuring the business continues to operate whatever the situation.

4.3) Eliminating traditional work boundaries and creating a more flexible workspace

Secure mobility provides an opportunity to enhance employees’ toolsets and assists in creating a flexible working environment that is not bound to a physical location.

4.4) Improved client interactions

A secure mobile environment can significantly improve the client interface enabling business to be conducted at the client’s convenience regardless of employee location.
