The guy below me is linking you hosting sites, not ones that will allow you to register a domain name for free… unless it’s a domain name with an extension.

For example, if you used hostei.com and wanted your site name to be “blarghel” then it would be “blarghel.hostei.com” not “blarghel.com”

But yes, there are plenty of free hosting sites that are ad free but none of them are very good.

Note: You can’t get any of the major domain names for free, if you want a “.com” (which you should want) or a “.net” or something then you cannot register it for free. If you don’t want one of the major types of domains then you probably shouldn’t bother registering a domain name anyway, because there’s little purpose in having one that’s “www.mysite.co.cc” you might as well just use a domain with a free hosting site until you can afford to just buy a domain (costs like 8 bucks)

This means your site address will be something like http://yoursite.freewebs.com, not http://www.yoursite.com. This way your website doesn’t look professional.
