That news article is from last year. The “??????????????? ????” wasn’t able to pass those bills.
That is an encroachment on freedom. Some Christians in Russia seem to think that Russia should be a “Christian Nation” though. And God the dictator of our country.

We may live in a mostly Christian country, but our founding fathers established something called the SEPARATION of Church and State. It’s a moot point whether Valentine’s Day is Pagan, or if it is devoted to the things you mention, NOTHING should be made illegal because of anyone’s God, regardless of what religion you may be referring to.
So a married couple who wish to celebrate the day by showing affection is a sin?
A couple who are dating shouldn’t show their appreciation of the love they get from their partners on this day because it is a sin?
People that get married on this day BECAUSE it’s Valentines day are committing sin?
