They had both Windows XP operating system. Laptop has more features and more space (and memory, etc.) I do not know if something beeinflussen.i dont have recovery disks to work on my desktop, but it has no virus scanner on an XP and SP1.

You may have problems. The Laptop and the desktop will have different device drivers for their hardware.
Also, if the Windows that came with the Laptop was a bundled version (most are) then it will only work with the serial key that came with the laptop.
The laptop discs will not work for your desktop since they don’t have the drivers and are hardware specific (unless the “recovery disc” is actually an “OS disc”, then it’ll work).
However, you can just use the desktop recovery discs. The recovery discs will wipe your hard drive (and the virus) so you don’t have to worry about that. Afterward be sure to update to at least SP2 though.
